Welcome to LVDLCS 2015-2016
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
Welcome to Lehigh Valley Dual Language Charter School! We are looking forward to starting another school year and are expecting it will be an exciting and successful school year.
We are dedicated to providing all students with the educational foundation necessary to succeed in school and in life. Not only does our educational commitment focus on Language Arts and Math, we also provide a rich educational experience in the Spanish language. Spanish class, science, and social studies are all delivered by quality, bilingual staff to ensure the LVDLCS students succeed in two languages. We continue to strive to meet each student's educational needs in both languages.
We are also continuing to work towards operating in a facility that is large enough to support our entire K - 8 population. We are working through this process and are looking forward to moving into a new location during the 2015-2016 school year. We will keep you posted as the details of the approval of the site and the move progress.
This year we are continuing to implement our School-Wide Positive Behavior Support Program that will include opportunities for students to earn Fun Friday Events and Dress-Down Days. Also, each month will end with an awards assembly that will highlight those students with positive behavior, positive academic performance, positive personal growth, and perfect attendance. This program was extremely successful in the past and we are looking to expand the program to place an emphasis on positive ACADEMIC behavior. Completion of homework, academic effort, and READING for enjoyment will take center stage during 2015-2016 in addition to following the school expectations of Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.
Please remember that parents are responsible to complete 25 hours of volunteer service for the school. There are many different ways to complete these hours from volunteering in the cafeteria, working in the classroom, completing projects for the classroom teacher, donating necessary items, attending workshops and events at the school, and also participating in an approved educational program. Please call the school office if you have questions about completing volunteer hours.
I am excited and looking forward to working together for another year with the wonderful staff, faculty, parents, and students here at the Lehigh Valley Dual Language Charter School. Working together, supporting each other, and creating a community of learners will assure the success of each student, family, and the entire school community.
